American Idol Time

It's been like two weeks maybe since the start of American Idol - one of the greatest talent search in the world ever. Anyway, I have been following the show which is aired at MediaCorp, a local channel here in Singapore, every Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Hollywood week has started already and this guy from L.A. is so amazing. He is Andrew Garcia. I'd like to check out the profile of this guy but I can't seem to find any. But anyway, youtube has lots of videos about him and all his stage renditions of some famous songs.

Anyway, just want to share this brilliant performance of Mr. Andrew Garcia in the first round of Hollywood week :

I hope he wins!!!

Gaynor's I will survive ?

This will make your stomach bark and your mouths chirp. Seriously, it's way creative and entertaining. I just personally don't know if they butchered, "I will survive".

Charice Pempengco won Singapore Idol

This is a fluke!

Charice Pempengco was actually a guest of the recently concluded Singapore Idol 2009. Too bad I was not present at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. I was not able to get some tickets so I just watched it over MediaCorp, a local channel.

There is that powerful and heartwarming performance of Charice and absolutely nailed it. Please see the videos below to appreciate.

Thanks to FalseVoice for sharing the video in youtube. Lastly, hope you guys enjoyed Miss Pemnpengco's wow-er performance.

Charice Pempengco sings, "Note to God"

I am so moved and touched by her performance of the song, "Note to God". See it here guys :D

Now that you have watched it, how did you feel? For me, I was simply blown away. She is really amazing! I would have written something today about the performance of Adam Lambert and Kris Allen for the final two of the American Idol show, but I changed my mind when Olga told me about her latest video.

Hope you enjoyed Charice's video which was performed at Oprah's.

Adam and Kris are in for the finals of American Idols

Wow! These two talents made it to the finals, the uniquely talented Adam Lambert and the versatile Kris Allen. My guess was right that it's going to be Mr. Gokey whose gonna say good bye - sad but that was what America decided.

Adam did his breath-taking number that landed him to the finals. Kris Allen made a great number as well in his second song which saved his ass. Though the performance of Mr. Gokey was brilliant, he just had not enough fans to support him. But I still thought he will be out because his voice is similar to that of David Cook.

The two part finale which will be next week will be really exciting, I hope I won't be late because I was like 6 minutes late when I tuned in to American Idols, some few hours ago. Good thing I still saw Jordin Sparks perform.

Since it was Gokey's farewell, surely I would like to share this video of his Idol journey. And thanks again, to youtube for providing us with the videos.

Danny's rendition of the song, "You are so Beautiful". Enjoy guys :)

Well, for the top 2 contestants, may the best talent and the most deserving wins.

OMG! Allison Iraheta is out of American Idol.

I couldn't believed what my eyes were telling me. It's Allison's final AI journey a.k.a defaced from AI. She is one of those really talented singers I admired in this tough competition. I believe she was able to sing and gave justice to the song last Wednesday compared to Kris' rendition of the Beatles song.

Anyway, as I have said it's the people of America who gets to decide. Sad to say she showed an attitude last night when Simon gave his critique.

Anyway, she deserves a spot in this blog and hope you guys who are reading would not mind watching her clip.

I'd still want to see her perform though. But her curtain in AI has been closed so just good luck to her and hope she can make outside of American Idol. She's young and very talented and she has a long way to go.

Lastly, may the great talent wins. Weeehhhh final three is going to be awesome and I should not miss it {crossing my toes}....

Adam Lambert at the bottom two of American Idol

What? Come again?

Yes, America voted Adam Lambert and was part of the bottom two. I thought it was Alyson whose going to be part of the bottom two but then I was so surprised that she was part of the top two together with Danny. I personally think that it was going to be Matt and Alyson.

Actually I was in disbelief that Adam was in that rank. But good thing he was able to survive it this week but, if that's going to be a trend then Adam Lambert will have to prove himself next week that he deserves to stay because he might be next in line.

Anyway, it's Matt Giraud who got axed. So good bye to him in the Idol stage. But then, what matters most is how he can survive the world outside. It's a bigger stage and I know he can make a mark if he is true artist and if he has this burning passion to make a mark in the music industry.

Waaah! Next week for American Idol is going to be really tough not to mention uber exciting. Good luck to all the contestants then and hope they can blow us away with their performances.

Lil Rounds and AnoopDog bids good bye to American Idol

Yeah you read it right! Sigh :)

Both of these talented singers were axed from this tough competition. Lil Rounds did a good number but not good enough to please Simon. Indeed, people of America must have been convinced by him. She is talented though and I believe she has a long way to go with her singing.

Annop Desai had the same fate. He may have received praises from the three judges but it was Simon's made the turning point. If you watch his performance, it was pretty good actually but not maybe good enough to convince Simon and ultimately, America.

Both were showing few votes and were always on the bottom three. Good thing Matt saved himself during his stage performance and true enough, the viewers made him stay.

Anyways, here are videos of Lil and Anooop!

Thanks ever reliable youtube for the videos.

David Archuleta, the runner up of the last AI season also graced the show and it was cool. He said he will be going to UK tomorrow to promote his music so to all the fans, go and flock UK. He came to Singapore actually just recently but I am not so of a fan, thus, I did not show up but instead I watched the concert of Side A.

Scott MacIntyre and Matt Giraud in American Idol

It was Scott MacIntyre's demise last week in American Idol. He was a truly inspiring singer - very brave of him to follow his passion. But too bad it was the people of America who had the vote to cut his streak in the show. But with those weeks that we've followed and knew Scott, I bet all of us must have been inspired one way or another. I know he will still shine someday and hope he will be given another chance to play his music. Anyway, thanks to my ever loyal video-portal friend youtube and I have this clip to show. Let's watch him.

This is another video of Scott:

And right now, it was announced that Lil and Matt at the bottom two as Anoopdog was saved. Anyway it's really exciting but it was Matt who is going to leave but not yet, he was saved by the judges. Next week, there will be two idols leaving though.
Anyway here is Matt's performance yesterday:

Matt is actually a good singer but I don't think his performance is as inspiring as that of Scott. But it was the jury's decision to save him and let's see him prove himself next week. I sometimes like his performance though and sometimes I think it's over rated.

Next week's American Idol is really going to be exciting.

And oh, I love Jennifer Hudson's performance :)

I'm not over with Side A yet!

Side A announced that they will be releasing their newest album. In fact, they sang a song which will be part of their will-be latest release. I was scouring youtube for this new song and I couldn't find it. Geez it was a teaser. Anyway, I checked one of their hits and here it is. Hope you guys can enjoy this clip:

I guess Side A is really popular because of their songs. I mean their songs are really nice and full of meaning. Mostly, their songs are about love which all can connect or relate to. Basically, one will surely fall in love with their songs.

Megan is out from American Idols

Megan is one of those I loved in the American Idols. I mean she is very different and she is also talented. Her unique voice is a mixture of country, pop, standard and had that interesting tone. But as the judges have been saying throughout the competition, the choice of music matters. It's unfortunate that she has to leave but anyway, I still have my other bets like the one and only Adam Lambert.

As a tribute to Megan, here are some clips of her - the road to Hollywood. Watch and enjoy guys.

Guns N' Roses' New Album

I was having a hard time trying to type the apostrophes (hehehe).

For those of you who are so fan of the Guns, they are releasing a new album, "Chinese Democracy". Good publicity? Hmmm. I don't know but I don't like the title. It's very obvious that the concept directors or consultants do not have anything to make of a title for the album so they just came up with that. We all know that China is a communist country so what are they trying to say? I haven't read the scripts how or why they came up with that title but it appears to me differently. The Chinese people can call or do for any Democratic movement and the world can support it. The album may preach the same thing but the real cause here is they want to make a buzz in order to sell. I don't know how else, will they make another title for the album. Haven't heard of the Guns waging for Democracy or if they want to promote Democracy, and just now. To the band who has released their last album way back the 1991 good luck. To the fans, I apologize for being critical on this.

I'm seeing my family again - Take 2!

In my most recent blog, I have announced I am going home to Cebu. I don't want to announce the date but I think I will be out blogging for three to four days. Since I am so excited about it, I was thinking of what song or drama that will describe this. I was checking out youtube again, as usual as ever. And there, I found Faith Hill's song, "There you'll be". I think the song does not describe of someone leaving and never coming back. I find it more about on treasuring a memory. There you are!

Treasuring memories was the thing being amplified.

I have with me lots of memories - sad and joys. I wish I can only take the happy thoughts or memories but sad things happen. I feel that I need to also be reminded of them for me to be adamant, resilient, and passionate about pursuing what makes me happy.

It's obvious, pretty obvious that I am uber excited. I am assured that more of these memories will be in my bag when I get back to Cebu.

A for Alicia Keys

Just before I decided with finality that she is gone, my wishful thinking was granted by whoever that gave her a chance to be once again heard. As I was accidentally listening to Nora Jones as mentioned from my previous post, I did mention that I miss Alicia Keys not literally her as a being but her singing and her music. I think she is one of those beautiful artists - gifted and humble. When I was like checking online, my goodness, she is there. She is just touring Europe and her latest stop was in Warsaw, Poland. I don't have a copy of her latest album, "As I am", but I 'm saving for that and one of these days I can grab a copy for myself. I thought she was dormant already but my mistake, she is very active.

When I further scoured the treacherous web, I found her official site and got some info there. One of which is that, she is having a movie with Queen Latifah - "The Secret Life of Bees". I wonder if she makes it big here? Well she and the queen's movie is rated A+, and maybe it's a nice try. But I'd prefer to see her in music scenes and not in movies but I would still support her though. I mean if she has the talent in becoming an actor then I'd give her my support. I must admit I am a fan!

I think I will be making more blogs about those men and women in music, literature, art and all artistic individuals who are inspiring and worth to be shared to the world. I am thinking of featuring next about Paulo Coehlo or maybe Josh Groban.

Sunrise by Nora Jones

I woke up early. I mean 7A.M. is not my normal waking up time. I usually get up around 9AM. Just another ritual that I do is listen to music. I have a playlist that I randomly choose among the lists I have and I did not bother to check the specific songs that are in there. It began to play ABBA, then Josh Groban then this song. If I am not mistaken, the first time this song was played was in the year 2004. This song is Sunrise by Ms. Nora Jones. I wonder where she is right now. I have lost track of her to be honest with you but I love her including Alicia Keys - darn where are they! I find "Sunrise" really inspiring.

By the way here is the lyrics of the song:

"Sunrise"

Sunrise, sunrise
Looks like mornin' in your eyes
But the clocks held 9:15 for hours
Sunrise, sunrise
Couldn't tempt us if it tried
'Cause the afternoon's already come and gone

And I said hoo...
To you

Surprise, surprise
Couldn't find it in your eyes
But I'm sure it's written all over my face
Surprise, surprise
Never something I could hide
When I see we made it through another day

And I said hoo...
To you

Now good night
Throw its cover down
On me again
Ooh and if I'm right
It's the only way
To bring me back

Hoo...
To you
Hoo...

And thanks to youtube.com, here is the clip which I would like to share to you as well:

Your heart speaks

I want to listen what my heart speaks to me

To make me feel that I am free once again,

And take me, far away from this insolence

Beyond the distant solitude - lovely home,

Beyond the crevice of the lips that are bold.

Bring to me more life and then give it meaning.

This is how I believed simplistic beauty.

That's to endure the time that challenges me.

If there are more words from the heart, utter them

Let me hear them, savor from the only truth,

I believed in them long before they were told.

But how can something that is not real, exists?

The shape of things that are from rote memory,

May not be real but are truths within myself.

I can't further argue nor give a harangue

Because this is an abstraction of beauty.

Where love creeps and soothes, not just your eyes or veins

But to the soul or mind, not just your being.

One can not fully grasp up until it calls,

The swaying chimes and the harmony in dawn

Are two of glorious music to deeply know.

If you have heard them, then listen to your heart!

It tells more than you can imagine your life.

A Diva is Born, Charice Pempengco

Her name is Charice, a simple girl with huge dreams. This time she is showing the world of her awesome singing prowess.

The first time I heard her voice and sang was in youtube. It was really amazing. I had goosebumps! Her voice is electrifying, very solid, captivating and guess what she is born to be a diva with the likes of Celine Dion, Mariah and Whitney. Her videos in youtube were selling like hot cakes and everyone just loved her. I myself watched her videos so often because it's really great not to mention addicting.

There was a video of hers in Star King (SBS Korea), a talent show in South Korea, where she performed twice with the audience left aghast and in uproar, in a pleasant way. Watch the clip here:

Ellen DeGeneres took notice of this and had Charice in her show in the US-of-A.
Here is the show's clip:

Charice was invited to perform in Paul O'grady's show in Great Britain. It's the hottest talk show in UK. See her clip here:

David Foster had Charice in his show in Las Vegas, which formally introduced Charice to a more bigger stage. See the clip here:

Andrea Bocelli, an amazing tenor, invited Charice in Tuscany, Italy and they did a duet singing, "The Prayer". Here's the clip:

Oprah joined the bandwagon and had Charice in her show as well. Oprah did another take of Charice like two weeks ago and Charice sang Celine Dion's Titanic OST hit, "My Heart Will Go On", with David Foster on piano. See the clip here:

Nothing can stop Charice. When she sang the second time around in the Oprah Show, Celine Dion was a guest live via satellite, invited Charice to sing a duet with her in Madison Square Garden. Just this day, I saw her clip. Watching it via youtube, I can say that, she's really one hell of a talent. I thought to myself that why not create a blog about her. Her journey from being a humble talent, to now becoming a star, conquering the world stage. Of course here is her clip where she sang, "Because You Love Me":

Well this is my tribute to her. I have been a fan, the first time I saw her in youtube. I think Charice has made a number of followings already. As a fan this is my way of giving credit to her wonderful gift.

Viva to Charice!
