American Idol and Sex in the City 2
Well the recently concluded American Idol 2010 had Lee as it's winner and oh I like Crystal than him. Even so, Lee is also vocally talented and yeah people of America loved him so there, he emerged as the winner. Well, good luck to both artists.
Anyway, I went out with friends to watch Sex in the City 2. This movie never failed to make me really really laugh. I like Samantha portrayed by Kim Catrall because of her really outlandish and woman - trying to live life with age as not a hindrance to celebrating life. Well the funny Charlotte and the nerdy fashionista in Miranda also made the movie really fun. Not to forget, the not so usual life of " the " Carrie Bradshaw, makes all the movie even fun to watch.
After watching the movie at Tiong Bahru Plaza, we went to Holland Village for an hour of chit-chat at Coffee Bean cafe. We had some cakes and regular chocolate drink. It was like really refreshing updating each and everyone's life - future travel and plans definitely were not a miss.
We went home at around 3AM and ofcourse, I was not able to sleep that early as again I played DOTA. This is a mild addiction I guess....
Planning to watch Prince of Persia today ;) Hope you guys had a great weekend and have fun :D

Lady Gaga mtv spoof
The very talented lady gaga was spoofed by these Filipino comedians. If you know how to speak Filipino then this video will make you laugh all your troubles. I don't know what are the undertones here be it cultural, political or other form of personal beliefs. But the talent put into this spoof is really amazing....

American Idol Time
It's been like two weeks maybe since the start of American Idol - one of the greatest talent search in the world ever. Anyway, I have been following the show which is aired at MediaCorp, a local channel here in Singapore, every Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Hollywood week has started already and this guy from L.A. is so amazing. He is Andrew Garcia. I'd like to check out the profile of this guy but I can't seem to find any. But anyway, youtube has lots of videos about him and all his stage renditions of some famous songs.
Anyway, just want to share this brilliant performance of Mr. Andrew Garcia in the first round of Hollywood week :
I hope he wins!!!

Gaynor's I will survive ?
This will make your stomach bark and your mouths chirp. Seriously, it's way creative and entertaining. I just personally don't know if they butchered, "I will survive".

Charice Pempengco won Singapore Idol
This is a fluke!
Charice Pempengco was actually a guest of the recently concluded Singapore Idol 2009. Too bad I was not present at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. I was not able to get some tickets so I just watched it over MediaCorp, a local channel.
There is that powerful and heartwarming performance of Charice and absolutely nailed it. Please see the videos below to appreciate.
Thanks to FalseVoice for sharing the video in youtube. Lastly, hope you guys enjoyed Miss Pemnpengco's wow-er performance.

Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, boxing emperor
Right now, Manny is the undisputed boxer of our time. He has now 7 titles under his belt in all different weight class division. And today, Cotto bowed down to Manny's power punches.
We actually had a live streaming over the net and it was a bit scary. Manny looked a bit disadvantaged in weight, height and arms' reach. But Manny proved to be a force to reckon with in the ring. Thus, Cotto lost the WBO and WBC title.
Wow! Congrats to Manny Pacquiao. True enough from the interview, he is from zero to hero, and from hero to Nero - the ultimate emperor of boxing....
Hope everyone learns that with the right skill and attitude one can pursue and achieve, whatever that great dream is. I believe Manny is a modern testament to that. Despite all the odds, he managed to prove to himself and to the world what he is made of.
Good luck and God bless to Manny and hope he stays humble and grateful. God bless to everyone also and have a great day ahead :)
Manny is Amazing with the capital A.

What really happened here in Singapore?

Anyway, what else to do in this expensive city? Go out and go clubbing!
My friends and I had free entrance tickets at one of Singapore's foremost club. The entrance fee would have been $35 for male and $30 for females. Expensive I must say. We went there at around 10PM and people were on a queue to get inside. Just before the dance floor was open, there was a fashion show. It was a good start. One of the designers was a Filipino and it was chic-urban themed fashion show. After the show, we decided to buy ourselves something to sip. We had vodka and baileys. Their drink was $12 per glass and it was on a buy 1 take 1. After we finished the set of four glasses, we ordered again. This time tequilla and margarita. After few hours of standing and few chit-chats, we decided to just join this people packed at the center of the dance floor. Daghan gihapon ang offbeat, as in, mas naa pay talent mga Pinoy. But, I had fun. The music was techno, house and trance all rolled up. Sometimes boring na coz the music kept on repeating. The DJ must not have any other cd, my friend thought. Anyway, I danced and jumped like a freeman because the drinks we ordered were expensive and that this night-out can happen like once in a blue moon. What an excuse, hehehehe.
It was 4AM when we decided to go home. Since Olga and I were hungry, we stopped at this cafe shoppe and I ordered congee (pospas ra gyud ni siya). After that, we went to our flat and I slept after I washed my face.
Morning came, I mean almost noon. I just had to prepare for lunch already. I ate bread and this Nesvita cereal drink. I was still hungry .... I also defrosted the chicken fillet. Once readied, I sliced it into several cubes and had it, fried in garlic, onion, and pepper and salt. I got satisfied with that simple meal and then just watched TFC. The show was fun until Manny Villar was aired in Wowowee. I had a bit of disgust on the show. People are simply being used for his end.
Anyway, I must move on and do healthier stuff and not focus on negative things. I went to the gym after I went with Jason to buy some stuff in a pharmacy.
That's it for the week. Ciao and enjoy!

Big Bang Theory Series
Sing with me guys with this new anthem, national anthem of the geeks and those who will be :
Our whole universe was in a hot dense state,
Then nearly fourteen billion years ago expansion started. Wait...
The Earth began to cool,
The autotrophs began to drool,
Neanderthals developed tools,
We built a wall (we built the pyramids),
Math, science, history, unraveling the mysteries,
That all started with the big bang!
"Since the dawn of man" is really not that long,
As every galaxy was formed in less time than it takes to sing this song.
A fraction of a second and the elements were made.
The bipeds stood up straight,
The dinosaurs all met their fate,
They tried to leap but they were late
And they all died (they froze their asses off)
The oceans and pangea
See ya wouldn't wanna be ya
Set in motion by the same big bang!
It all started with the big BANG!
It's expanding ever outward but one day
It will cause the stars to go the other way,
Collapsing ever inward, we won't be here, it wont be hurt
Our best and brightest figure that it'll make an even bigger bang!
Australopithecus would really have been sick of us
Debating out while here they're catching deer (we're catching viruses)
Religion or astronomy, Encarta, Deuteronomy
It all started with the big bang!
Music and mythology, Einstein and astrology
It all started with the big bang!
It all started with the big BANG!
Well, I am having some stomach rumbles with this funny series :D Thanks to some magician friends who were providing me with this fun stuff.... I think I'm not going anywhere this long vacation just because of this.

UFO Catcher at Lot One
When the clock struck sharp 7PM, I hurriedly locked my PC and turned off my flatscreen monitor. I said good bye to my officemates and off I went to Choa Chu Kang. The mall called @Lot 1 Mall has these unrigged UFO Catchers. I was in a hurry so I went to the bus stop just in from of the company. I was there waiting and di not see the Bus 91 so I checked for the company bus. It was there parking and some Gemalto employees were beginning to camp already. I decided to ride the company bus. Note that it was raining a bit so I wished that it would stop somehow. I made a phone call to Jason, checking them where were they. They were already in the mall. Excited that I was, I couldn't hide the feeling to already jump off the bus. Heheheh just kidding... just to get to any of the UFO Catchers. The company bus arrived at the Buona Vista Station after 7-10 minutes I guess and I hurriedly went my way up to ride the train. Just few minutes of waiting, the train arrived and I get inside the train so quick. It was a 20 minute ride going to Choa Chu Kang Station. When I arrived at the station, I made another call to Jason. They were waiting for me at the food court already... I could not deny the fact that I was hungry as bear so I made no protestation as the UFO Catcher machines won't run :D.
I went to food junction was it and ther
We went out of the mall with smiles in our face and really had a bit of fun... We were not over yet as we were still talking about what happened while we were going out of the mall and while going for the train ride home. We were not over of this UFO Catcher stuff as we are going to hit Bugis some other time or even the very far Yishun on the red line.

UFO Catcher Tips
I'm not over yet with UFO Catchers. In fact, the link which my friend told me about was there on youtube and so the most logical thing for me to do was see the video myself. She is a Japanese lady who I think lives and breathes with UFO Catchers.
To those who are very much eager to learn UFO Catcher strategies, this is a better watch :
This UFO Catcher is designed from Japan so it might be totally different with the ones designed in America. Actually, I so happened to see the machines in the US where in it is doomed to fail for a certain number of tries like 10 tries. Doomed to fail here would mean that the catcher grip is so loose that it would be impossible for the player to pick the toys. But then, after that specific number of tries, by the eleventh count the grip becomes tight and with the right skill, one can abduct those adorable toys.
The one at East Coast Park was of a Japanese design. That was the reason we got so many toys. It so happened that we were able to discover some few tricks of our own which actually is close to what the video from above has shown. We actually tried the UFO Catcher at Plaza Singapura and they were a bit rigged. You can't make a full control of the UFO Catcher as there were like an inch or two long stoppers at every edge of the levers - too bad.
My friend will be actually checking the UFO Catchers in IMM or in Centerpoint, malls in Jurong East and Boonlay respectively. We are also planning to check-out the machines in Vivo City. I might have another post regarding these machines if we can give them a good try, probably this weekend :)

UFO Catcher at East Coast Park
Anyway, the highlight of our trip was playing at this UFO catcher machine. The first try was a lucky one
I think we were hooked already of the game simply because we have never tried this one when we were in the Philippines. In fact, my housemates are actually searching at Youtube for all the tutorials on techniques of playing this machine, and I will be checking them out myself.
My coming home to the Philippines will have to be spent at any big mall in Cebu playing UFO Catcher machine. Come to think of it, in Singapore it's worth 1SGD which is 30 PHP and in the Philippines, one token would cost 6PHP. Just do the math :)

Charice Pempengco sings, "Note to God"
I am so moved and touched by her performance of the song, "Note to God". See it here guys :D
Now that you have watched it, how did you feel? For me, I was simply blown away. She is really amazing! I would have written something today about the performance of Adam Lambert and Kris Allen for the final two of the American Idol show, but I changed my mind when Olga told me about her latest video.
Hope you enjoyed Charice's video which was performed at Oprah's.

Singapore is a Soccer nation
When I went out last night together with my friend to eat at this hawker in Buona Vista, the people dining there had their eyes glues on the big screen. They were actually watching this soccer game. It was joined by all ages. It was fun looking at the crowd cheering for their own teams. It was much like basketball or boxing in the Philippines that people tend to gather just to watch the games.
I don't know who brought the soccer fanaticism in Singapore so I did my own research.
I found out that it started in the year 1892 upon the founding of Singapore Amateur Football Association. Wow it's over a century already. The Singapore team was on the limelight when it won the HMS Malaya cup which I think had sparked people's interest on the game. In that game, they had also many victories against Euro teams. They did not account really if the Euro teams were for invitational but then the Singaporeans has embraced this game so much that the following has gone to its greater heights.
Well, I don't want to write all the history of it in full details so I'd like you to check this site for your self guys:
http://ourstory.asia1.com.sg/dream/life/ref/100.html .
Anyway, I find it cool to see people gathering at some place much like a hawker, a very public food place just to watch soccer. As a foreigner, it is pretty much interesting.

Adam and Kris are in for the finals of American Idols
Wow! These two talents made it to the finals, the uniquely talented Adam Lambert and the versatile Kris Allen. My guess was right that it's going to be Mr. Gokey whose gonna say good bye - sad but that was what America decided.
Adam did his breath-taking number that landed him to the finals. Kris Allen made a great number as well in his second song which saved his ass. Though the performance of Mr. Gokey was brilliant, he just had not enough fans to support him. But I still thought he will be out because his voice is similar to that of David Cook.
The two part finale which will be next week will be really exciting, I hope I won't be late because I was like 6 minutes late when I tuned in to American Idols, some few hours ago. Good thing I still saw Jordin Sparks perform.
Since it was Gokey's farewell, surely I would like to share this video of his Idol journey. And thanks again, to youtube for providing us with the videos.
Danny's rendition of the song, "You are so Beautiful". Enjoy guys :)
Well, for the top 2 contestants, may the best talent and the most deserving wins.

OMG! Allison Iraheta is out of American Idol.
I couldn't believed what my eyes were telling me. It's Allison's final AI journey a.k.a defaced from AI. She is one of those really talented singers I admired in this tough competition. I believe she was able to sing and gave justice to the song last Wednesday compared to Kris' rendition of the Beatles song.
Anyway, as I have said it's the people of America who gets to decide. Sad to say she showed an attitude last night when Simon gave his critique.
Anyway, she deserves a spot in this blog and hope you guys who are reading would not mind watching her clip.
I'd still want to see her perform though. But her curtain in AI has been closed so just good luck to her and hope she can make outside of American Idol. She's young and very talented and she has a long way to go.
Lastly, may the great talent wins. Weeehhhh final three is going to be awesome and I should not miss it {crossing my toes}....

Adam Lambert at the bottom two of American Idol

Yes, America voted Adam Lambert and was part of the bottom two. I thought it was Alyson whose going to be part of the bottom two but then I was so surprised that she was part of the top two together with Danny. I personally think that it was going to be Matt and Alyson.
Actually I was in disbelief that Adam was in that rank. But good thing he was able to survive it this week but, if that's going to be a trend then Adam Lambert will have to prove himself next week that he deserves to stay because he might be next in line.
Anyway, it's Matt Giraud who got axed. So good bye to him in the Idol stage. But then, what matters most is how he can survive the world outside. It's a bigger stage and I know he can make a mark if he is true artist and if he has this burning passion to make a mark in the music industry.
Waaah! Next week for American Idol is going to be really tough not to mention uber exciting. Good luck to all the contestants then and hope they can blow us away with their performances.

Lil Rounds and AnoopDog bids good bye to American Idol
Yeah you read it right! Sigh :)
Both of these talented singers were axed from this tough competition. Lil Rounds did a good number but not good enough to please Simon. Indeed, people of America must have been convinced by him. She is talented though and I believe she has a long way to go with her singing.
Annop Desai had the same fate. He may have received praises from the three judges but it was Simon's made the turning point. If you watch his performance, it was pretty good actually but not maybe good enough to convince Simon and ultimately, America.
Both were showing few votes and were always on the bottom three. Good thing Matt saved himself during his stage performance and true enough, the viewers made him stay.
Anyways, here are videos of Lil and Anooop!
Thanks ever reliable youtube for the videos.
David Archuleta, the runner up of the last AI season also graced the show and it was cool. He said he will be going to UK tomorrow to promote his music so to all the fans, go and flock UK. He came to Singapore actually just recently but I am not so of a fan, thus, I did not show up but instead I watched the concert of Side A.
